If anyone asked me what I wanted to be when I was growing up, I would have answered, an artist.
I graduated college with a B.A. in CulturaI Anthropology and my intent was to stay an additional semester and study art but life threw me a curve.
I was offered a fabulous job first as a magazine editor at Mademoiselle and then as Fashion Director of Seventeen Magazine for a total of 10 years. Following that I became Visual Display Director and Merchandise Manager for Unique Clothing Warehouse, a counter-culture emporium in Greenwich Village for another 3 years. I left Manhattan for Chappaqua, NY and I met a very gifted artist, Terry Robbins, who held classes in her studio. While others in the class were doing Georgia O'Keefe style flowers, I was painting Lions and Chimpanzees from photos that appeared in National Geographic.
Recently I have been studying with Felicia Feldman, a well-known portrait artist, and before that, Steve Parton, who has studios in Manhattan and Westport. Steve also taught at Sivermine School in New Canaan, CT.
My work has been shown in 4 shows at the Wilton Library, “Art to the Stores” in Greenwich, CT, “Art to the Avenue” in New Canaan, CT and “Artwalk” in Ridgefield, CT. Most recently, I was accepted into a juried show at Rowayton Arts Center
I live in Wilton, CT and have two lovable Labs who are my inspiration each day. I am an advocate for animal rights, both domesticated and in the wild.
